TWICE was recently voted as one of the two most influential groups in today's Kpop scene. Based on the results of a survey conducted by Sports Chosun to 20 K-pop agencies both domestic and overseas, the female group received 17 of the 20 total votes, which showed that most of the agencies have the same assessment. Meantime, BTS was named as the most influential male Kpop group after earning 18 votes.

TWICE Brings A New Generational Wave Of Girl Groups

TWICE has been recognized for bringing a new generational wave of girl groups, after other famous girl groups like Wonder Girls and Girls' Generation that took home several album and online music awards in 2016. In fact, the female group has emerged on the top in just a short amount of time, with only less than a year since their debut, TWICE sold more than 200,000 albums and also getting more than 100 million views on YouTube, which gave them the status of being the "nation's girl group."

Meantime, the agency representatives who voted for TWICE said that they chose the female Kpop group due to the members' great personalities and songs. It also worth noting that the group is currently recognized as the leader of a generational switch in Kpop, as they now enter their third year following their debut in 2015.

TWICE, meanwhile, is an exception when it comes to the long-time belief that girl groups are weak in album sales, including in terms of view counts on music videos. According to reports, their "CHEER UP" music video reached 100 million views in 207 days, which broke the record for the fastest Kpop group video to hit the milestone, Soompi reported.

TWICE Tops The Music Chart 2017 With "Knock Knock"

TWICE's "Knock Knock" remains as the No. 1 song in the Music Chart for the third week of March this week. This is despite other strong contenders in the music scene. In fact, reports suggest that there is no indication that the song will drop down, since it already won on "Show Champion" and "Inkigayo," Billboard reported.
