Finally, after several years of using the same features over and over again, Apple is set to refresh its iPhone line this 2017 with a whole lot new exciting designs. One of its rumored latest features is the OLED display which is expected to be seen in the upcoming iPhone 8. Although this year will only bring one iPhone model to sport the new design, the upcoming changes could be applied to new iPhones.

According to The Bell, a South Korean publication, Apple's supplier named Interflex is expected to spend more than $800 million for a new tool that would provide flexible printed circuit boards (FPCBs) for the upcoming iPhone 8 and new iPhones. The report also suggest that the American brand will definitely go for the much-awaited OLD design.

"FPCB connects chips to parts such as displays and cameras. Apple will secure the part for its new OLED iPhone from three Korean suppliers, including the Samsung unit, Interflex, and BH. Apple is expected to adopt OLED for about 60 million units or 40 percent of the iPhone 8 this year and double the adoption next year. It aims to use OLED for all its new iPhones by 2019." (via BGR)

This simply means that the new iPhones that will come out on 2019 will sport the controversial OLED design. Although Apple itself has not confirmed this and only hints and rumors were dropped for the meantime, it's fair to say that these speculations come in a reasonable timeline. This can be strengthened by just basing on the rumored launch of Apple's flagship phone, iPhone 8, which is assumed to be this coming fall.

OLED display has been used by Samsung and pretty sure, this will still be a surprise for Apple users. Aside from this rumor, the new iPhone is also expected to feature wireless charging, missing home button, and a glass body.
