The Korean-American singer Eric Nam has recently revealed details about his forthcoming album and his views about his US releases during an interview with Marie Claire Magazine. His revelation involved why he prefers to make music outside the K-Pop industry.

The said interview talks about Eric, who is currently working on his album while his fans are expecting him to release a new single in March. At the same time, the 28-year-old songwriter is also answering questions about his plans of expanding his music in the US industry.

"I'm planning to release a single in March and then a mini-album once it's ready. I've written over 20 songs myself but the hardest part is choosing which songs will go on my album. I like many genres of music and so there are many various styles of songs [to choose from]," Eric Nam explained. I've written songs with KOLAJ, Jeff Bernat, and many other international and domestic artists. But, I'm still deciding on how I'm going to bring them all together in one album."

He also enlightened those who are questioning the delay of his album release and Eric Nam said that it's all because of the process in editing. He explained the struggle of editing and putting all songs together to make an album. At the same time, as Koreaboo reported, the "Cave Me In" singer is also filming for "We Got Married," a mock-dating show. This is another reason for his busy schedules and delays.
As for why Eric Nam prefers to work in the US, he said that in Korea, most people care about the rankings and at the same time, showing the artist how well or bad he did in his music. However, in America, the listeners don't care about the ranking at all. So basically, this is the reason why he prefers to work overseas than in his homeland.
Eric Nam also said that unlike in Korea, international artists cares more on producing good music rather than anything else.
