Google Nexus 6P owners can expect the March security update to arrive anytime this week. The said patch is expected to weigh around 39MB and contains build number N4F26T. It is expected to rollout starting March 7.

The Huawei-made smartphone, originally released in September 2015, will be on a three-phase rollout. The first phase will include 10,000 units, which will receive the latest update until March 10, chosen randomly. Another 10 percent will be chosen on the next succeeding days that will receive the update that will start on the fourth day until the 13th day, GSM Arena reported.

U.S. carrier Vodafone has already mentioned that Google Nexus 6P smartphones under them will receive the latest update this Tuesday. Other devices that the search-engine giant directly handles will also receive the March security update this week, the report added.

The Google Nexus 6P is currently running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. However, units running Android 7.1.2 Nougat and are part of the company's beta program are not included to receive the March security update.

Google has been regularly releasing security patches on a regular monthly basis for more than a year now. This is due to the number of vulnerabilities that has been discovered on the Android operating system.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that Google will soon release Pixel 2 and Nexus 7 during the second half of 2017. Nexus 7 is said to be the reincarnation of the first tablet of the company that was launched back in 2012, MobiPicker reported.

Previous reports also suggest that the upcoming tablet will not be called Nexus anymore. Google has already started the Pixel brand last year and the rumored slate is said to be named Pixel 7.

Additionally, it is also speculated to be running on Andromeda operating system, which is a combination of Android and Chrome OS. Hardware wise, the rumor mill suggests that the slate will contain a 13MP rear- and 8MP forward-facing cameras.

Google Nexus 7 display screen is also rumored to offer 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and will also contain a 3,000mAh battery. In the meantime, watch the Google Pixel XL goes head to head with its predecessor, the Google Nexus 6P on this video:
