‘NCIS Los Angeles’ Season 8 Episode 15: Miguel Ferrer’s Last Appearance; Makers Pay Tribute

"NCIS Los Angeles" fans gave their goodbyes to Owen Granger played by Miguel Ferrer in episode 15 of season 8. The makers of the show decided to pay a final tribute to the late actor through a special feature. The special feature is going to air in episode 16.

The veteran actor, Miguel Ferrer contributed a wide role for the success of "NCIS Log Angeles." As reported by TV Line, the CBS network planned a special tribute to the late actor. The fans can even witness the tribute that is going to air along with the "NCIS Log Angeles" Season 18 episode 16. The makers also decided to play Ferrer's rendition of Bob Dylan's classic "Knockin' on Heaven's Door." Besides, his band The Jenerators will also be performing for the special episode. The episode will be titled as "Old Tricks," will end with a memorial card which will be dedicated to the actor.

Recently, the actor has made his final appearance as an Assistant Director Owen Granger in "NCIS Los Angeles" Season 8 episode 15 "Payback." The last scene even features the moments of his passing. In episode 15, the viewers can see that Owen was strapped to an I.V. of the hospital. Hetty played by Linda Hunt visited him and Owen shared his dreams with her. He shared that the dreamt there was a buzzard who kept circling him. Hetty teasingly confronted him and advised him to get some rest.  

On the other way, the exit of Owen Granger in "NCIS Los Angeles" opens the door for several exit storylines. Although the makers already planned to send off Owen's character, it is still unclear what's going to happen in Episode 16 after his death.  Miguel Ferrer was the main character of the TV series, as he was playing the role of Assistant Director for consecutive six seasons. Just like "NCIS Los Angeles," the actor was also able to return to his other roles and finished them before saying goodbye to his fans. The actor died on January 19, 2017, due to throat cancer.
