Oscars 2017: Full List of Nominations and Everything We Know so Far!

The 2017 Oscars had been involved in a little controversy after the announcement of a winner has been screwed up. Although things were settled as soon as possible, it is still something that most people want to talk about.

So what really happened in the 2017 Oscars? How did Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway present the wrong winner?

The latest update of the best-picture fiasco or also known as #Envelopegate. Variety published an article that covers photos and timeline on how things happened between PricewaterhouseCoopers accountant Brian Cullinan and the presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. Apparently, there were mixed up of envelopes which led to announcing the wrong best-picture winner.

One picture shows the accountant holding a couple of envelopes near Warren at the backstage, as he was a bit busy preparing for announcing the best picture. Then the unfortunate thing happened -- Cullinan gave the wrong envelope. The published story also told about Cullinan tweeting Emma Stone's photo with her best-actress Oscar as Beatty and Dunaway were already set onstage.

At 8:53 pm PST, the Oscar winner for best actor Casey Affleck went backstage and gave Warren a hug. As per the Business Insider, Cullinan is seen holding two envelopes in one hand and his phone in the other.

After winning the best-actress, Emma Stone walks backstage at 9:03 pm PST while Cullinan handed the wrong envelope to the presenters. After a minute, while the best-picture nominees are being announced, Cullinan takes a picture of Stone using his phone. And at 9:05 pm PST, the accountant shared the best-actress' photo on Twitter.

With a puzzled look, Beatty passes the envelope to Dunaway without knowing that she was, announcing the same best actress card that says Emma Stone has won for her act in "La La Land."

At 9:11 pm PST, Cullinan and another accountant Martha Ruiz were seen correcting the mixed up envelope onstage. After the incident, the Academy released a statement telling that the accountants will not return to work after the 2017 Oscar Awards.
