Breaking: Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Official Trailer Confirms Ego As Star Lord's Father [WATCH]

For months, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has been teasing the fans with its mini trailer. But, the official preview recently answered the questions that the moviegoers have been asking about. The official trailer confirms Ego the Living Planet as Star Lord's father.

There have been rumors about the weird character being on the superhero flick for quite some time. Now that the misfits will return to the big screen, this is the time that they give a proper introduction to the new character in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Actor Kurt Russell will portray the role of Ego the Living Planet, notes Collider. Comic book enthusiasts may recognize Ego as a regular old planet that has a desire of conquering other planets. Thor, the God of Thunder, put an end to Ego's ambitions of conquest. But unlike today, some sites speculated that he could be the villain in the Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Marvel reveals the official trailer of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 during the recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, reports The Verge. Apart from that, the preview also introduces new characters such as Nebula, Mantis, Yondu, and a lot more. The fans can also hear some of the song included on the Mixtape Vol. 2 like Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain."

"Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand."
