Super Junior's 'Mamacita' Plagiarized By Another Indian Movie
The Kpop community has been reeling from plagiarism issues and this time, there are rumors that another Indian film copied Super Junior's "Mamacita" and used it as a soundtrack for the movie. Just recently, there were reports that an Indian film ripped off several songs from the idol group EXO and used it as part of the OST for their movie. Netizens have been quick to react on this plagiarism and it seems that the group's label is going to take action. This time, Super Junior is facing another plagiarism controversy.
Super Junior is the newest whose work was plagiarized in an Indian film. The most recent group to suffer a similar fate, EXO, had two songs "Baby Don't Cry" and "Plagiarized" in an Indian movie. The songs were even uploaded to the cloud and are on sale. This time, the song "Mamacita" seems to be the plagiarized music in question. Fans claim that the Indian movie "Hela Mate Prema Jara" used the same music and choreography in its song "Ai Ai Ai Yooo".
Compared to the plagiarims done with EXO's work, there are more differences than similarities. However, fans noted that the group's signature movement in the song which included hitting the side of the head with the palm and the choreography, in general, seems to follow Super Junior's style. The melody between the original Super Junior song is almost similar and this solidified claims that the Indian OST has been plagiarized.
For now, i remains to be seen whether the group's label SM Entertainment plans to take action to make sure that the producers and the people behind the movie will be made aware of the issue. For now, it seems that Super Junior supporters and kpop fans, in general, will make sure that plagiarism will not be tolerated in the country and abroad.
