iPhone 8 is expected to take a drastic leap forward both in design and functionality. The iPhone 8 is said to roll out with an edge to edge display removing the home button. Moreover, rumors have been circulating that the Apple flagship iPhone for this year would roll out without the Touch ID feature as well.

The reputed Apple analyst Min-Chi Kuo noted that the Apple iPhone 8 may roll out with the same size as the 4.7 inch iPhone 7. However, the iPhone 8 may feature a display with 5.15 inches of usable space, BGR reported. Kuo further noted that the iPhone 8 with OLED display may not truly be edgeless as the phone may sport extremely thin bezels on the sides and at the top.

Moreover, the bottom of the iPhone 8 may also have a "function area" similar in utility to the Touch Bar. Hence, the iPhone 8 may be able to roll out with an iPhone 7 Plus-sized display but with a smaller form. However, Kuo also revealed that the giant tech company may implement a security verification system with face recognition technology. Leaked reports also claim that Apple may incorporate 3D laser technology on the iPhone 8.

Meanwhile, Kuo speculated that the Touch ID feature may be non-existent on the iPhone 8. Furthermore, JPMorgan analyst Rod Hail shared Kuo's sentiments as he wrote to investors saying that Apple is working on a 5.8 inch phone with an edgeless OLED display. Interestingly, Hail noted that the iPhone 8 may launch with a front-facing 3D laser scanner for facial recognition.

iPhone 8 is also believed to launch alongside the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, BGR reported. However, rolling out with a flagship product with features like an OLED screen, new glass casing and 3D laser scanner may increase production costs of the iPhone 8. Hence, the smartphone may launch more expensive than its predecessors. Watch more iPhone 8 leaks here:
