Mason Plumlee of the Portland Trail Blazers is now heading to the Denver Nuggets. The Blazers have received Jusuf Nurkic and a second-round pick in return as both teams announced the trade Monday.

The Sports Illustrated confirmed that the Denver Nuggets have acquired the rebounding center, Mason Plumlee. The Blazers also sent a future second-round draft pick along with a cash consideration.

In return, the Portland Trail Blazers received the Bosnian big-man Jusuf Nurkic. Nurkic is expected to add depth in the big-man position for the Blazers as they are now trying to climb the ladder and steal the 8th spot from the Nuggets.

Mason Plumlee has been a good contributor to the Blazers this season after he was acquired via NBA trade during the off-season last year. Plumlee is adding more than 11 points with a great 8 rebounds per game, making him one of the best contributors to the team.

Plumlee spent his first two years with the Brooklyn Nets as a backup center to Brook Lopez. Though playing with limited minutes off the bench, he ensures every minute of his game will provide great contributions as the Koin said in their press release.

Meanwhile, Jusuf Nurkic would be a great addition to the Blazers due to his size and height. Jusuf Nurkic may not a great number contributor, but he can be utilized as a screen man in a pick-and-roll situation.

The 2014 16th overall pick of the Chicago Bulls Jusuf Nurkic was traded to the Denver Nuggets the same night. Since then, Nurkic provides an average scoring add-ups to the team and has been a big factor in a pick-on-roll play.

Later on, Nurkic' spot was taken by the emerging Nikola Jokic this season. Jokic has been very productive as the Nuggets discover his talent in the low-post scoring and rebounding, making him the legitimate starting center for the Nuggets.
