Final Fantasy XV News And Updates: Square Sales Slowly Gaining Traction
Square Enix is once more dominating the gaming industry with the sales of its "Final Fantasy XV" franchise in an upbeat. It is anticipated that with the high volume of sales for the game franchise, it could even outpace Ubisoft and its revenue returns.
For more than a decade, Square Enix has developed the "Final Fantasy XV" franchise and although it has spawned worries that it might fall behind, the sales already broke even its cost of development on day one of launch, reports Siliconera.
According to the same report, Final Fantasy XV sold over 5-million copies on its first day of launch and back in early January the game sold over 6 million units and the game is currently exclusive to console, and game director Hajime Tabata has expressed his desire for porting the game to PC several times.
Recently, he revealed that he would release the game for PC only for technical purposes and said that he wants to show the game running on high-end systems and Square Enix already has an experimental build of "Final Fantasy XV" on PC and a quite beefy PC is required to even run it.
In a different note, it is very impressive, as they were able to have such a success with the game right out the gate by already recouping the game's budget and it was previously announced that Square Enix shipped five million copies of the game on release day but we obviously have no official numbers of how many of those were actually sold, according to Dual Shockers.
"Final Fantasy XV" is an open-world action adventure game developed by Square Enix for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The DLC is slated to come out in March.
