‘Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries’ Pushing Through! Succesful Kickstarter Campaign Yields $72,000

"Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries" has been acquired by a developer based from the UK. Those who were backers of the game when it was still in Kickstarter will have their rewards honored.

"Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries" was a game based on the "Red Riding Hood" story but it was told in a darker style, according to PC Gamer. GriN Multimedia, game developer, had a Kickstarter goal of $50,000 but they took in $72,000.

There were issues though with the first episode, which had low reviews, then after a few months the developer shut the development down. They apologized and said that they could not finish the game and cannot deliver the rewards for backers, according to sources.

The UK video game developer Rebellion has purchased the game from GriN Multimedia, according to Eurogamer.net. Rebellion is the maker of the "Sniper Elite" series and also the early days of the "Alien vs. Predator" games, according to Kotaku.

Rebellion is interested with other categories like comic books, producing films, and anything related to being a nerd. "Woolfe" was interesting, so they purchased the intellectual properties since they were attracted to it, according to sources.

"Our book imprints have published quite a few dark and twisted retellings of classic tales," said Rebellion. "And so Woolfe's gorgeous, twisted take on Red Riding Hood immediately caught our interest when we heard it was up for sale."

Jason Kingsley, the CEO and creative director of the Rebellion, will respect the backers of the game. The developer will honor the pledges by delivering the physical rewards for them as soon as possible, according to Gamespot.

"Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries" is still available on Steam. The only change is Rebellion is now the owner of the game. The Kickstarter page of the game has also been taken over by the developer and will write its own updates from now on.
