With the trade deadline looming and LeBron James vocally expressing to the media that they need a point guard, it seemed that former Team USA National team player Deron Williams from the Dallas Mavericks could be suiting up for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the next few days.

The veteran point guard was once hailed as Chris Paul's rival when they both came in the league in 2005 and after having an All-Star career; Deron Williams is at the decline of his career. The 32-year-old point guard once averaged a double-double in points and assists multiple times in Utah and he would bring his basketball IQ to the Cleveland Cavaliers and play with LeBron James given the chance.

The question is: Who do the Cleveland Cavaliers trade for Deron Williams? The point guard is still to make $10 million this season with the Dallas Mavericks. With the sense of urgency, it seemed that Cleveland could part ways with either J.R. Smith or Iman Shumpert to get Williams in a Cavaliers uniform.

Just a few weeks ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers rejected an offer by the New York Knicks to trade Carmelo Anthony for Kevin Love. In what seemed to be a weak move by the Cavs, it seems that Cleveland wants to maintain the chemistry and not integrate a huge piece that could ruin the team's fluidity.

After losing Matthew Dellavedova to the Milwaukee Bucks in the free agency, the Cavs have been shopping for a backup point guard. In acquiring Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks, the Cavaliers had to ship Mike Dunleavy together with their remaining point guard on the bench - Mo Williams. Recently, the Cavaliers had recovered from a 3-game losing streak and LeBron James made it clear that the team lacks a backup point guard that the team desperately needs. Indeed, adding Deron Williams to the lineup will boost the Cavaliers' bench.
