Suzy Criticized For An Alleged Lolita-Themed Photos
The 22-year-old singer-actress was under fire for her allegedly Lolita-themed photos.
The allegedly Lolita-themed photos were from Suzy's photobook 'Suzy? Suzy' which was released way back in 2015. Pictures from the said photobook recently resurfaced on various online communities. Some netizens are reacting to the photos, branding the whole pictorial as Lolita-themed.
Netizens are saying that everything on that photobook seemed to promote a Lolita feel. From the props, to Suzy's facial expression, to her poses, to the camera angles.
For example, as one netizen pointed out, in some of the photos, Suzy was seen holding some crayons and children's which seem to evoke a Lolita idea. In one of the photos, Suzy was even dressed as the character Mathilda from the movie 'Léon: The Professional' which is accused of being a pedophile-friendly movie.
Some netizens even said that the camera angles made it feel like you're peeking at her. The overall vibe of the place where the photoshoot took place even looked like some brothel. It exudes a very dark and gloomy ambiance, they said.
Although a lot of netizens were uncomfortable on the whole photoshoot theme, some of Suzy's fans still defended her. Her fans said that it is an exaggeration to call the whole photoshoot a Lolita-themed. According to them, the photos only exude a retro feel.
A fan even pointed out the fact that the photographer himself said that they do not intend to make the whole photoshoot Lolita-themed. According to the Photographer who handled the pictorial, the whole photoshoot was actually spontaneous. Like for example, the children's book was already there at the barber shop where some of the photos were taken because it actually belongs to the owner's grandson.
Some of the fans also pointed out that none of the photos in the photographer's Instagram account suggests a Lolita feel. They believe that neither the photographer nor Suzy intended the whole photoshoot to be Lolita-themed.
