Idols turning into actors are very common these days and netizens don't have a problem with that. However, for these idols to land on lead roles in their third, second, or even first ever acting project is another thing. Netizens find it quite unfair.

It has been recently announced that EXO's Chanyeol will play one of the lead roles in MBC's upcoming drama 'Missing 9', which is followed by the announcement of another EXO member, Kai, taking the lead role in a KBS' upcoming drama 'Andante'. And just yesterday, January 13, it has also been announced that Red Velvet's Joy, which is also from the same label, is taking the lead role in a tvN's upcoming drama 'The Liar and His Lover'.

With these idols landing on lead roles in their third, second, and even first acting project is causing some heated arguments over the internet.

Some netizens believed that it is unfair for these idols to land in such important roles right away when there are other deserving actors out there. For these idols to get that big break in acting right away, without much of a trouble, is somehow unfair, they said. Some netizens even accused SM Entertainment of abusing their power to get lead roles for their rookie talents.

Some netizens also believed that these idols' acting is not that good yet for a lead role. They said they should be given some supporting roles first to enhance their acting skills.

However, there are also netizens who are happy with the news. They said these idols worked hard to get these roles, thus, they are just as deserving as any actor out there. They also believed that the production won't give these idols such important roles if the productions think they couldn't give justice to the characters.
