‘Twin Peaks’ Season 3: Not Remake Of 1990 - 1991, Premiere Set After 25 Years, Kyle McLachlan Homecoming, Naomi Watts Joins Casts

"Twin Peaks" Season 3 has finally been booked for its grandest comeback after its 25 years of hibernation. The show is an original new series that will kick off after the last two seasons in ABC. This time around, Kyle McLachlan will have to return to Twin Peaks at the Showtime Networks on May 21, 2017 in a two-hour premiere.

According to TVLine, "Twin Peaks" Season 3 is not a remake of the old series, rather it will be a continuation of the first two seasons. A new cast Naomi Watts will be one of the new additions to the stars who will be joined by the old timers. The CEO of Showtime, David Nevins himself made the announcement that the show will have 18 episodes all in all for the revival.

Additionally, Digitalspy has reported that finally "Twin Peaks' Season 3 will have an entirely different format, deviating from its traditional pattern. This time it will have more episodes to be released on TV and for web streaming. While it will have its premiere on May 21, it will be available on the web service on May 23 with episodes 3 and 4.

The storyline of "Twin Peaks" Season 3 will revolve around FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper's (Kyle MacLachlan) journey back to the remote town of Twin Peaks, Washington. He will go back to dig into the murder case 25 years ago of the homecoming queen.

"Twin Peaks" Season 3 will also bring back the original stars of the series including David Duchovny as Denise Bryson, Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne, Madchen Amick as Shelly Johnson and Sheryl Lee as Laura Palmer and Maddy Ferguson and a lot more. David Lynch will be directing the show.
