Jung Joong Young Returns To '1 Night 2 Days' After Sex Scandal

Artist Jung Joong Young, the youngest member of the reality-variety show "1 Night 2 Days," will re-join his cast members on the upcoming episode slated January 15.  

The show's producers announced Friday Jung Joong Young's comeback after three months of absence from the show.

"After Jung Joon Young was proven innocent, the producers and members recently started to discuss Jung Joon Young's comeback," said the showrunners, according to allkpop. "The final decision is made for him to return in January. Jung Joon Young has participated in the first recording on the 6th, and the broadcast is scheduled for the 15th. The producers and the members appreciate the viewers for giving concern and love."

They also promised to work even harder on the show to provide more laughter to their viewers.

The musician and TV personality temporarily left the popular KBS2 variety show Sep. 28, 2016 to take some time off for reflection amid his sex scandal.

His ex-girlfriend accused him of filming during sex without her consent but later cleared the singer of the charges. The police acquitted Jung Joon Young and closed the case October 6 last year.

Despite being cleared of the charges, Jung Joon Young apologized in a press conference and also dropped out of tvN's cooking show "Mr. Baek The Homemade Food Master 2" and was edited out of SBS' reality-variety show "Laws of the Jungle."

His rock band Drug Restaurant also canceled their supposed concert in November.

Fans were upset and expressed concern that the artist continued to suffer even after being proved innocent.

"What did he do wrong?" allkpop quoted one netizen as saying.

"He needs to return to '1 Night 2 Days' too TT," read one comment.

And another, "I don't understand why he has to be edited out..."

Jung Joong Young reportedly flew to France on October 13 to focus working on a new album.
