GOBLIN Ep 6 – Haunted Bridge

K-drama "Goblin" reminded viewers Saturday of a scene from another widely popular TV series "Descendants of the Sun."

Also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," the fantasy-drama's sixth episode showed the actor Lee Dong-wok, who played the role of the Grim Reaper Wang Yeo, reciting a reminiscent line straight from the drama "Descendants of the Sun."

"I am a Grim Reaper. Grim Reapers follow orders. Sometimes who I believe is Sun-hee might be Sunny to another," said the Grim Reaper who made himself invisible in order to avoid Sunny.

In KBS2's major hit series which aired from February to April, actor Song Joong-ki delivered a similar line for the role of Alpha team leader Yoo Si-jin.

The Captain said, "I am a soldier. Soldiers follow orders. Sometimes what I believe is good and right means something else to another."

Screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, one of the highest paid drama writers in South Korea, wrote both of these popular series.

She made sure, though, that "Goblin" would be different from the rest of the hit series she's written.

"When I had a meeting with Kim Go Eun, I told her that this drama would be different [than the previous ones], that all of the characters would stand out," the writer said during a press interview, according to allkpop.

Two weeks into the show, "Goblin" already beat "Descendants of the Sun" as the top buzzworthy TV drama.

"Goblin" broke another record when it reached 14 percent viewership Friday as revealed by TNmS, according to HelloKpop.

Nielson Korea also presented Sunday the show's sixth episode with a 12.9 percent overall ratings, according to Soompi.

"Goblin" released Tuesday several stills for its upcoming episodes that showed actor Jung Hae In's cameo role as Ji Eun Tak's first love. The makes the 938-year-old goblin Kim Shin, played by actor Gong Yoo, jealous.

"Goblin" airs every Friday and Saturday
