2016 Melon Music Awards: Confirmed List of Idol Groups Attending the Show

The 2016 Melon Music Awards has officially released the list of idol groups attending and performing at the event.

Organized by LOEN Entertainment through its online music store, Melon, the Melon Music Awards has been recognized as one of the major music awards event held annually in South Korea. Now the official site of Melon Music Awards has released the names of the numerous idol groups competing for the top awards.

As reported by Soompi, multiple artists from YG Entertainment will be coming to the awards ceremony. Girl group BLACKPINK, who debuted not too long ago, will be attending the event for the first time. The renowned Sechs Kies, who used to be one of the most popular boy groups in the 90's, is also making their comeback under YG's label. They will also be attending the Melon Awards featuring their comeback song "Three Words." iKON and Akdong Musician will also be attending the 2016 Melon Music Awards.

To compete with YG Entertainment's representatives, some artists coming from SM Entertainment are also confirmed to attend the show. The whole force of EXO has reportedly confirmed to come to the event. Girl's Generation's Taeyeon and Red Velvet will also take part on the awards night.

Other artists in the music industry that have confirmed their attendance in the event are MAMAMOO, Twice, BTS, Seventeen, Block B's Zico, Bolbbalgan Sachoongi, I.O.I, 10cm, and BewhY.

The Melon Music Awards generate their judging by using a combination of digital sales performance and fan-submitted votes to determine the winners in different available categories. As such, fans can vote for their favorite artists online through the Melon Music Awards' official website until November 18.

The 2016 Melon Music Awards will be held on Nov. 19, 7:00 pm (KST) at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
