Song Joong Ki Belatedly Revealed to Have Donated to Help Children with Cancer

Hallyu star, Song Joong Ki, was reported to have secretly donated to help young children with cancer, and such act moves people's heart, making him more loveable in the eyes of local and international fans.

An article from allkpop stated that it was recently discovered that the actor donated 95,000,000 won (US $84,000) for pediatric cancer research in August and September of the current year. On October 25, Daily Sports reported that the Korean Leukemia Children's Foundation confirmed the news saying, "Song Joong Ki donated 95,000,000 won over 10 installments back in August and September."

The actor's donation will be utilized to pay for the surgeries of children who are struggling and fighting various types of leukemia.

Song Joong Ki was introduced to the foundation via the "Yellow Ribbon Campaign" in 2011. The actor is also known to have donated to the south pole preservation cause and pledged 100 million won (US $88,000) through UNICEF for the Nepalese children who were affected by an earthquake that hit the country.

On October 20, he also reportedly made a generous donation for the victims of Japanese sex slavery. A representative from the Social Welfare House of Sharing announced, "While organizing the donation funds we received on the 18th, we that 20,000,000 won (about US $17,742) has been donated under the name Song Joong Ki. Normally, donators give us a call after making a donation, but we have not heard anything from Song Joong Ki or his label. So we think he has personally and quietly made the donation." Song's donation will be spent on the housing for comfort women.

Blossom Entertainment, the actor's label released a statement saying, "Song Joong Ki wishes to donate quietly. He does not notify the agency about any of the donations."
