TWICE, GOT7, B.A.P And More K-pop Groups Nominated For ‘Best Korea Act’ At 2016 MTV EMA

This year is one of the biggest opportunities for many K-pop groups who have been nominated for the "Best Korea Act" category at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The voting officially opened on September 26 with the lineup of famous stars like Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Arian Grande, Lady Gaga and many more. MTV EMA is hosted by MTV Networks Europe that gives awards, prizes, and recognitions to performers and musicians around the world.

Popular Korean pop artists including VIXX, TWICE, GOT7, B.A.P, and GFRIEND have been nominated for the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards. Among the five nominees under "Best Korea Act", the group who will win the category will have a chance to be included under the category of "Best Worldwide Act" nominations.

B.A.P won the award for "Best Korea Act" in 2014 and had the opportunity to be included in the final list of nominations under the category of "Best Worldwide Act." At the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards, K-pop boy group BTS won the award for "Best Korea Act." They beat their fellow artists such as GFRIEND, B1A4, GOT7, and VIXX.  Moreover, EXO and B.A.P were the previous winners of the said category.

In 2011, BIGBANG is the very first Korean group to win the category of "Best Worldwide Act" and the "Best Asia and Pacific Act." Until now, BIGBANG is the only K-pop group to have succeeded in bagging the "Best Worldwide Act." By going to the MTV EMA Korean web page, fans are able to vote for their favorite artists who are nominated under the "Best Korea Act" category.

The 2016 MTV EMA will be broadcast around the world and the location will be held at Ahoy Rotterdam in Netherlands on November 6, Sunday at 9 p.m. CET.
