Song Hye Kyo Feels Nostalgic with 'Autumn in My Heart' 16th Anniversary
Song Hye Kyo reminisced the past with "Autumn in My Heart" 16 year anniversary celebration last Sept. 18.
The "Descendants of the Sun" actress posted on her Instagram account showing nostalgia about her first ever drama that gained her popularity, Koreaboo reported.
She captioned a screenshot from the hit drama, "9.18... It has already been 16 years... Director Seokho Yoon... And Song Seungheon, Wonbin thank you once again!!"
The drama that aired in 2000 also starred Song Seung Hun and Won Bin. The 16-episode drama was the first installment of tetralogy "Endless Love." It was succeeded by "Winter Sonata" (2002), "Summer Scent" (2003) and "Spring Waltz" (2006).
It was also one of the most successful Korean melodramas that contributed to Hallyu programs' current domestic and international fame, Soompi reported.
The series made Song Hye Kyo won the Popularity and Photogenic Award in KBS Drama Awards in 2000.
It's viewership rating in South Korea peaked at 46.1%. It was broadcasted in other Asian countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Philippines.
The drama series had remakes in countries including Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Turkey.
Song Hye Kyo played the character Eun-suh in a story about two characters switched at birth and later on found their ways back to their real families. Eun-suh grew up with brother Jun-suh played by Song Seung-Heon. The two were raised by a rich family. The other character Shin-ae played by Han Chae-Young grew up with a single parent living an impoverished life.
The switch was disclosed later in the series.
After several years, Eun-suh and Jun-suh reunited and started to develop special feelings for one another.
The Hallyu actress recently returned on TV and gained success from her outstanding performance in the "Descendants of the Sun."
