'Game of Thrones' Wins 9 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Game of Thrones won 9 Creative Arts Emmy Awards making the series a consecutive winner of outstanding special visual effects award for five years.

The fantasy drama series won 9 out of 11 Emmys scored by cable network HBO. GOT won the Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie, Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Best Costumes for a Period/Fantasy series and Best Production Design for Contemporary or Fantasy.

GOT come out better that other nominees The Man in the High Castle, Vikings and Penny Dreadful.

Hollywood Reporter revealed that the episode "Battle of the Bastards" served as the series' strength.

The people behind the outstanding visual effects of GOT include overall VFX supervisor Joe Bauer, VFX producer Steve Kullback, VFX associate producer Adam Chazen, lead CG supervisor Derek Spears, VFX plate supervisor Sam Conway, lead CG supervisor Eric Carney, special effects supervisor Matthew Rouleau, VFX supervisor Glenn Melenhorst and previs supervisor Michelle Blok.

GOT has the most number of nominations this year which totalled to 23. Last year, the series based on the best-selling book "A Song of Ice and Fire" won eight awards.

The series starring Kit Harrington, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner and many others is set to air its 7th season on 2017 which will only comprise of seven episodes instead of 10.

Other winners include FX, the Ryan Murphy Series, Veep, American Horror Story: Hotel, Transparent, Shameless, The Hunting Ground, The Man in the High Castle, Fargo, American Idol, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Night Manager, Mr. Robot, The Big Bang Theory, Downtown Abbey and the People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and many others, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Actors and actresses who received recognitions were Margo Martindale, Hank Azaria, Peter Scolari and Amy Poehler.
