‘Spider-Man: Homecoming:' Jon Favreau to Return as Iron Man's Body Guard

Variety exclusively reported that director-actor Jon Favreau will share screen time once more with his fictional boss Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Film Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Jon Favreau will once again play as Happy, Stark's personal driver and bodyguard, in the "Iron Man" series.

Fans had known that Robert Downey Jr. was going to reprise his role as the flamboyant  billionaire Tony Stark, but were unaware that his loyal friend and bodyguard would also return.

Sony and Marvel said that they are "looking to add a familiar face from the Iron Man universe into the new Spider-Man reboot."

Spider-Man: Homecoming' is currently filming in Atlanta with Tom Holland starring as the iconic web slinger Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei, as Aunt May and Michael Keaton,  as possibly the film's main villain. Jon Watts is the film's director.

Other actors who have been confirmed to join the film include Logan Marshall-GreenDonald Glover, Zendaya and Tony Revolori. Variety reported recently that Jona Xiao has also joined the cast.

Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige are producing.

Plot details are kept under lock and key. "Vacation" directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein penned the script.

Previously, Favreau played a large part in the Marvel cinematic universe, directing the first two "Iron Man" movies. He most recently took the director's chair for Disney's live action smash hit "The Jungle Book" which has made more than $900 million worldwide and is currently underway in developing a sequel.
