KeyEast Denies Sexual Assault Allegations Against Uhm Tae Woong
It was revealed that on August 23, actor Uhm Tae Woong was summoned by the Bundang Police Station on alleged sexual assault.
The plaintiff, referred to as "A", submitted a complaint against Uhm Tae Woong for sexual violence. Based on the complaint, the supposed sexual assault happened in January 2016 at a massage parlor in Bundang. The complaint was submitted last month and the prosecution presented the case to the police yesterday.
Soompi reported that a source from the police mentioned, "The plaintiff has not been investigated yet so the inside story has not been confirmed yet. It cannot be revealed whether or not A is an employee at the massage parlor."
The investigation also attempts to verify whether or not the actor and "A" had sexual relations and if it was sexual assault.
Uhm's agency, KeyEast, released a statement following the controversy stating, "The sexual assault that the plaintiff is claiming is not true. If the police request his attendance, Uhm Tae Woong will faithfully partake in the investigation. We implore you to refrain from making speculations about this one-sided claim until the correct investigation results are out."
More information about the accuser have been revealed such as she is a woman in her 30s and her complaint stated that she was assaulted by a male celebrity at a massage parlor that does not sell sex. She also mentioned that the actor went to the massage parlor alone.
"A" is reportedly has been in police custody since July 12 due to a fraud case, and three days later, she filed the sexual assault complaint against Uhm while in a detention center.
Ilgan Sports also reported that the wife of Uhm Tae Woong, Yoon Hae Jin, stated in a phone interview, "I won't talk on the phone now. I don;t have anything to say." She also made her Instagram private following her husband's controversy.
Uhm and Yoon have been married since January 2013 and has one daughter, Uhm Ji Ohn. The actor and his daughter appeared in the TV show "The Return of Superman." Uhm's last project is the television series "Wanted."
