The "Deus Ex: Revision" download is now up for grabs on Steam today. The gaming community did not expect the release to be this early.

"Deus Ex: Revision," an old video game classic, is now celebrating its 15th anniversary. Square Enix and Eidos Montreal, the ones behind the Deus Ex franchise, honor the game's anniversary with an update that a fan group made, Caustic Creative, according to Siliconera.

Caustic Creative is a fan group of the "Deus Ex" franchise and has been diligently working on their fan mod, Revision. The fan mod, if applied, will remaster the game's environments and the soundtrack, which is what most gamers today like to see and hear. The Deus Ex Revision download actually does not just make the environment look and sound pretty but it has also overhauled the original altogether.

"Where other projects fill in detail around the edges of the game by tuning gameplay mechanics or improving textures, we focus on the visceral core of the Deus Ex experience, bringing new level design, aesthetic direction, and world-building detail," said Caustic Creative director John French.

It was also predicted in the past by one major gaming website that "Deus Ex: Revision" would be done in February next year. It seems they were wrong about it since it Deus Ex: Revision has been released just this month, states a report from PC Gamer.

Another perk that you get from this fan mod turned official upgrade is that you can get this on Steam for free, but you will still need the game for it. You can purchase your copy for only $1.39 for the next few days on Steam so better get one quick, according to Kotaku.

"One of the reasons that Deus Ex has been so popular for 15 years is the way in which the gaming community has embraced the ground-breaking gameplay and a narrative that looks to the future but is inspired by real-world events," said Eidos-Montreal head of studio David Anfossi.

"Revision from Caustic Creative is a fantastic way for fans new and old to experience the original Deus Ex in a whole new way before Deus Ex: Mankind Divided raises the bar once again," he added
