It seems like Konami's latest installment in the "Metal Gear Solid" series of the "Metal Gear" franchise is set to get an updated "Definitive" version based on recent postings by the digital device retailer Dell.

As reported by Gamespot, an update to Dell's listings for upcoming products reveals that "Metal Gear Solid V" will get a definitive version for its console versions. The specific postings for each separate Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions carry varying differences.

The "Metal Gear Solid V Definitive" posting for the PlayStation 4 currently sports a photo of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System machine as a placeholder image, while at the same time the posting's descriptive text is currently filled with a product description for the same machine.

In comparison to the PlayStation 4 listing, the "Metal Gear Solid V Definitive" posting for the Xbox One is much more bare bones without even an image placeholder.

The posting come after a similar incident on Amazon the month before, when the online retailer accidentally leaked the existence of a supposed "Metal Gear Solid V Definitive Ex" after a listing for the game suddenly showed up on the website without official word from Konami. The listing has since been taken down, although this recent occurrence on Dell's website suggests that the accident's revelation did have a degree of truth.

An interesting difference for the Dell listing compared to the Amazon one, however, is that the "Ex" part of the title is conspicuously absent. Although it might be that Konami has simply since decided make a small title change since the Amazon incident.

As for the specifics of what might the "Metal Gear Solid V Definitive" version might content, some believe that it will hold true to the standard practice of "definitive" video game versions being released as the complete package of the original versions.

For "Metal Gear Solid V," a definitive version could mean that the package will have both the short prequel "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" and the main "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," in addition to featuring the added downloadable content and multiplayer packs.

The whole of the "Metal Gear Solid V" story tells the tale of Big Boss' time before the Les Enfantes Terribles project, the event which gave birth to his sons of which the famous Solid Snake is a part of. Without spoiling anything, the game shed some light on the history of the series' timeline in addition to revealing some massive twists with the biggest one pertaining to the reality of the very first "Metal Gear" game.

The series was the brainchild of renowned developer Hideo Kojima, until his departure from Konami and the eventual creation of his own studio.

The Dell listing for "Metal Gear Solid V Definitive" states it will arrive in October 11.
