‘Allison Road’ Game Kickstarter Campaign Cancelled; Latest News Confirms Project!
Last month, Lilith Ltd announced "Allison Road" game's Kickstarter project to raise funds for the sole purpose of funding its development. However, the development team cancelled the fundraiser campaign effective today, Oct. 13 according to a report from Gamasutra.
"Allison Road" is an upcoming horror survival game which is inspired by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro's game "P.T." Lilith Ltd created the "Allison Road" game's Kickstarter project to raise funds for the "first-person next-gen survival horror game." It was launched on Sept. 21.
The initial goal amount is £250,000 and as of today, it managed to raise a total of £145,959 with 4,482 backers supporting the project. Lilith still have a long way to go, however they announced the cancellation of "Allison Road" game's Kickstarter project via Twitter, GameSpot writes.
While the cancellation of "Allison Road" game's Kickstarter is a bad news, Lilith did add some good news in return. they were able to sign up with UK-based independent publisher Team17 to continue the game's development, which means its production status is still green-lit.
Team 17 Digital is well-known for creating the "Worms" game franchise and "Alien Breed" series. It was founded in 1990 and currently has over 70 titles in the company portfolio, including the upcoming "Allison Road."
However, it is noted that some of the backers are disappointed with the move as they could possibly miss out on the promised rewards and also, the game might only be developed for PCs as a result. Lilith stated that Team17 will allow them to create the best game possible, and "the chance to make our game unhindered creatively, but at the same time will give us the resources, support and experience that only a 25 year old studio can give."
Also, Lilith announced that they will find out ways for interested backers to get involved outside the Kickstarter project at a later date.
