A series of new images for the upcoming installment to Michael Bay's "Transformers Cinematic Universe," "Transformers: The Last Knight," have been released featuring a look at a new character and some returning ones.

The images were shared at the official "Transformers" Twitter account, posted over the course of a few days beginning Aug. 3 with almost one image shared per day. The images featured multiple angle views of the Autobot characters, coupled with some added information regarding their specific height in addition to listing down some deeper details like personality quirks.

The first character shared last week was Hot Rod, who is also one of the newest arrivals to Optimus Prime's posse of robots in disguise. Hot Rod's dossier lists his height as an inch over 16 feet, which is around 4.9 meters for those more comfortable with the metric system. The character's history indicates a close relationship with series staple and mascot Bumblebee, with the pair apparently being brothers-in-arms through past exploits.

According to the personality traits listed, Hot Rod might apparently act as the headstrong new guy to the cast with "brash" and "slightly arrogant" listed among his quirks. The less abrasive "protector" personality trait was also listed, indicating that Hot Rod also takes after Autobot leader Optimus Prime's drive for protecting the weak.

Hot Rod's presence in the film, coupled with the "Last Knight" part of the title, suggest that a big change might happen in the movie series' storyline regarding Optimus Prime's status as the leader of the Autobots. "Transformers" fans will remember one Hot Rod's first and most famous appearance in the 1986 animated film "Transformers: The Movie," where he took over as leader of the Autobots and became Rodimus Prime.

The other new character shared was Sqweeks, whose design indicates his alternate mode is some form of a beat up blue moped. In his Autobot form, Sqweeks looks a bit like a degraded version of WALL-E with one of his legs replaced with a peg leg. Standing at 3'6", about 1 meter, tall and carrying a "small frame, big heart" personality, Sqweeks is looking to be the new cute robot character for the film.

The other images were of returning Autobots Drift and Crosshairs, both of whom first appeared in the previous "Transformers: Age of Extinction" as part of the remaining few Autobots left on Earth being hunted down by the humans for their parts.

Drift was voiced by Japanese actor Ken Watanabe in the previous film, with the character's design and label as "The Honorable Warrior" patterned after the design Samurai class of ancient feudal Japan. John DiMaggio provided the voice for Crosshairs in "Age of Extinction, where he functioned as the standoffish, long coat-wearing sniper for the team.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" stars Mark Wahlberg's return as the main human protagonist Cade Yeager. Beside him is new girl Isabela Moner as Izabella, a close friend of Sqweeks. Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson will also be returning after their absence in the last film, reprising their roles of William Lennox and Robert Epps respectively.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" is slated to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
