'Criminal Minds' Remake To Be Produced by 'Descendants of the Sun' Creators

The popular U.S. TV series, "Criminal Minds," will be remade by the creators of "Descendants of the Sun," Yonhap News reports. 

The South Korean remake of "Criminal Minds" will be handled by NEW production company. NEW is responsible for the megahit TV series "Descendants of Sun." They are also partnering with the producers of "Iris" from ABC Studios and Disney Media Distribution for the Korean remake. 

"We will go through a completely different process of casting and filming," NEW and Taewon Entertainment said in a statement.

News reports that Disney Media Distribution will distribute the series not only in South Korea, but also China and Japan. An expected release date has not yet been determined.
