Bobby Brown dispelled rumors that his recent cancellation of a show in South Carolina was because of news about his deceased daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, whose autopsy report released earlier this week may clear Nick Gordon of any liability.

"My Gastroenterologist has made the decision to keep me resting for another week," he said per E! News. "I recently had surgery and the recovery time has taken longer than expected."

The singer also thanked his fans via Twitter for their concern.

The news comes as the investigation in Bobbi Kristina's death has led to the autopsy report.

According to the report, which was released on her birthday, "Bobbi Kristina suffered brain damage and died of pneumonia caused by drug intoxication and water immersion."

ABC News added that the latest update to the death by drowning clears Nick Gordon from any suspicion in Bobbi Kristina Brown's death.

"The truth is that Nick tried to save Bobbi Kristina's life," lawyers Jose Baez and Joe Habachy were quoted in a statement to ABC News.

"The truth is that Nick cooperated with law enforcement since day one. The truth is that no one loved Bobbi Kristina more than Nick and no one has suffered more as a result of her death then Nick."

According to Nick Gordon's reps, their client has even been prevented from seeing Bobbi Kristina Brown in the months leading to her death.

"On top of being prohibited from visiting Bobbi Kristina at the hospital for the last six months of her life, Nick has been publicly humiliated for more than a year," the statement from Gordon's camp said.

NBC News, on the other hand, said that while the autopsy report reveals more details into the investigation, it does not show the cause of death.

NBC said this still leaves the question of homicide or suicide to be up to the courts to decide.
