‘Batman VS Superman’ Trailer Shows Bruce's Retirement; Reveals Kent’s Supremacy!
The latest trailer for "Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" showcased a lot of interesting scenes, but never revealed anything that would spoil the whole film. Screen Crush speculates that this superhero clash is the precursor to the Justice League, co-founded by Batman and Superman. However, there is no concrete evidence of why they are fighting each other, aside from the god-like attention that Superman is getting.
A scene-by-scene analysis made by Den of Geek unearthed some very interesting tidbits that could be tied to the plot. One of these is the desecration of Superman's statue, with "False God" spray painted in red over the "S" on the chest. This gives a hint of dissatisfaction over Superman's status, and this may or may not be Batman's doing. There's also a scene where armed guards all bearing the "S" crest on the shoulders bowing in reverence to Superman. From that, it is easy to see that the film features polarizing views on the man of steel.
Viewers also noticed that Superman's fight against Zod might have triggered Bruce Wayne to come out of retirement. The "Batman VS Superman" trailer plot is full of Ben Affleck/Batman's menacing stares. From those scenes alone, viewers already know how Batman feels about Superman's rise to fame.
The "Batman VS Superman" trailer plot alone promises an action-packed movie experience. If "Man of Steel" and "The Dark Knight Returns" were any indicators, this film would be packed full of violence. According to Box Office Mojo, the film is already rated PG-13 by the MPAA because of "intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality."
After the trailer's release, questions about Ben Affleck's casting as the dark knight started to lose traction. He looked convincingly like a mature and rugged Bruce Wayne, a perfect foil to the young, refreshing Clark Kent played by Henry Cavill.
