Jose Aldo To Take Over As Conor McGregor's Opponent After Rafael Dos Anjos Backed Out In Fight?

The highly-anticipated Conor McGregor - Rafael Dos Anjos fight will not happen next month. The latter withdrew from the bout due to a foot injury during training yesterday.

There is a clamor that Dos Anjos should be replaced and one of the names being dropped is McGregor's latest victim Jose Aldo? Is he up for the task? No, unfortunately.

The Brazilian's manager revealed they were approach by UFC pres. Dana White to replace Rafael Dos Anjos and have fight rematch with Conor McGregor. However, Aldo is not yet in good shape.

Aldo was knocked out by McGregor last November in just 13 seconds.

"Dana [White] called me, telling what happened and asking if Aldo was in shape to fight," Andre Pederneiras told MMA Fighting. "I said he wasn't and that there wasn't enough time, and unfortunately he wouldn't be able to fight next week."

Shortly after the loss, Jose Aldo expressed how badly he wants to get back at Conor McGregor. He also said that what happened in November was not really a fight and he could have done better. All he care for at this moment is a rematch with The Notorious.

"My only exception would be fighting (McGregor), at any time, anywhere, and once that he is afraid and knows that I'm gonna win," he wrote on his Instagram account. "Doesn't have to be title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I wanna whoop (your) ass anywhere."

UFC is rushing to find a replacement for Rafael Dos Anjos as UFC 196 is supposed to take place on March 5 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This fight is the Irish fighter's shot to becoming the first pro to hold two titles from different division at the same time.

Also in UFC 196 event is the match between Holly Holm and Miesha Tate for the Women's Bantamweight Title. Reports said winner of this fight will take on Ronda Rousey.
