‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Spoilers: Meredith And Alex To Finally Hook Up? Japril To Divorce?

Potential spoilers to "Grey's Anatomy's" season 12 hint that long-time friends Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and titular character Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) could pursue a relationship, at least an open letter by E! Online hopes so.

Karev and Mer have been friends since the early seasons, and Karev is the only original male cast member that Ellen Pompeo's character has not dated yet.

"Look, we're not sure where you're going with Meredith and Alex, but we're picking up on the clues you're laying down," the E! article said.

"From the looks of things, Meredith ... might be ready too."

The theory follows up on the therapy session that Mer had with her therapist, following her debilitating and brutal attack during the previous week's episode of season 12.

Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey is asked by her therapist if she loves Karev, a notion that Meredith brushes off with a laugh at the latest episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12.

"You can't tell us that ending the episode with Meredith watching Alex and Jo kiss in the backseat of her car while Maggie (Kelly McCreary) asks her "What do you want to do?" wasn't some sort of hint," the post said.

E! added that the recent episodes hinted too much on a blossoming relationship between the two, including how worried Karev was of Mer during the attack, and how he kissed her on the forehead.

"Alex's friendship with Mer has been a roadblock in his relationship with Jo for a while now, and that's because Jo can see what they can't see, what we couldn't (or wouldn't) see," it added.

Speaking of Jo, she and Karev have been at odds regarding his relationship with Meredith in recent episodes.

Us Magazine said, "From the start, Meredith resisted opening up to her therapist, but he wasn't about to relent."

Meanwhile, a video at spoilers site spoilersguide.com shows a sneak peek at episode 11 of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12.

In the video, Jackson and April quarrel about how he served divorce papers to her during a major surgery.

Jackson said the relationship might no longer work, as they have become different people.
