Tool Announce Two Music Videos Instead Of New Album's Release Date

Progressive rock group Tool announces two new music videos ahead of the release date of their much-awaited sixth studio album.

Guitarist Adam Jones participated in a Q&A session on Reddit and revealed the group's plans.

"Adam talked a lot about the process they were going through on the new album," a Redditor said in a statement originally published by NYSK, as reported by Alternative Nation. "No one asked about the progress, so I can't tell you what the status of that was."

The Redditor didn't touch on Tool's new album release date, but he did confirm that the band is working on two new music videos that will accompany the upcoming record.

"What I did find very telling, however, was him talking about the progress they've made in producing the two music videos," explained the Reddit user. "It came out of him talking about using CGI vs stop motion work in Hollywood and his time as a visual effects artist."

The band's decision to announce the two music videos led to rumors that the new album isn't finished yet.

However, Jones said that the progress of their new album is going "really well."

"Things are really flowing and going really well, and I'm just blown away at the stuff that's coming together," the "Lateralus" guitarist said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "I'm excited and can't wait for it to be done."

Speaking about new material, Jones teased that some of the songs on their new album are "really heavy," but assured that they quintessentially sound like Tool songs.

"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones told Rolling Stone in a separate interview. "We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it are really heavy, some of it are really complex and some are more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool."

Tool has yet to announce an exact release date for their sixth studio album.
