As the titular film series comes close to its final installment, "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" trailer has been released. With its found footage format, the trailer brings us all back to where it all started thanks to technology, according to Empire Online.

The "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" trailer features the family of Ryan, Emily, their daughter Leila, and Ryan's younger brother Mike. It also hints that another daughter died a year before the story and will almost ties into series of events in the film. The said family moved from New York to Palo Alto so that Ryan can start his new job in game design.

By the looks of "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" trailer, it seems that this is the most expensive production to date from the film series. The first ever "Paranormal Activity" revealed to only have budget of $15,000, while the final one have cost more than $5 million to produce. The previous film "The Marked Ones" earned a total of $32 million in the US and $90 million globally, yet it is the lowest earner to date as reported by Cinemablend.

Actress Katie Featherston, who played lead in the first film, is also set to make an appearance in the final film.

Aside from concluding the franchise, "The Ghost Dimension" is also part of a new theatrical release strategy. The film is part of an experiment by Paramount and a number of theaters chains by shortening the window between the end of a film's theatrical run and its digital availability which will allow home audiences access to new releases earlier than the scheduled date.

Gregory Plotkin will direct the final "Paranormal" film. Screenwriting has been done by team of Jason Pagan, Andrew Deutschman, Adam Robitel and Gavin Heffernan. "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" will premiere on October 23.
