The film is part of an experiment by Paramount and a number of theaters chains by shortening the window between the end of a film's theatrical run and its digital availability which will allow home audiences access to new releases earlier than the scheduled date.
Gregory Plotkin will direct the final "Paranormal" film. Screenwriting has been done by team of Jason Pagan, Andrew Deutschman, Adam Robitel and Gavin Heffernan. "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" will premiere on October 23.
