Earlier this week, rumors spread on the internet claiming that No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani has been replaced by her bandmates with AFI frontman Davey Havok.

The news came shortly after Gwen Stefani announced her new solo LP "This Is What the Truth Feels Like," which prompted fans into thinking that she was parting ways with the boys of No Doubt.

Apparently, this isn't the case as "The Voice" judge shed light on the matter in an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

"I actually first heard about it on the internet," admitted the 46-year-old "Hollaback Girl" singer. "They're doing a side project."

Stefani, who split with husband of 13-years Gavin Rossdale back in November, clarified that the boys of No Doubt are starting an entirely new group.

"They wanna be in a punk band," Stefani explained of No Doubt members Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont. "It's not No Doubt - it's all the guys from No Doubt doing a new band, just to do new music."

When asked if she wanted to front No Doubt again, she jokingly replied that she needed to "text Tony and ask him."

The news of Gwen Stefani being replaced with a man as the singer for No Doubt certainly shocked fans, but for Stefani, the news wasn't all that too surprising. In fact, she's happy about No Doubt boys' upcoming project.

"Gwen was happy that Tony, Tom and Adrian have decided to form a band without her," a source told Hollywood Life, as reported by Inquistr. "There's no animosity towards them, or likewise towards her. There was just a general acceptance that she needs to do her own thing, and so do they."

Gwen Stefani co-founded No Doubt in 1994 and rose to success in 1995 with the release of their album "Tragic Kingdom." The record has sold more than 16 million copies and is considered to be one of the best-selling albums in history.
