'No Man's Sky' Release Date Delayed Reportedly Due To VR Compatibility
"No Man's Sky" is easily one of the most anticipated titles to be released for PlayStation and the PC.
However, fans were disappointed that the game didn't drop during its expected holiday 2015 release date, and now it seems that it will be pushed even further.
Game developer Hello Games introduced the open-world title in 2013, but it has been almost three years and they still have yet to reveal an official release date for the game.
Sources speculate that Hello Games is delaying the title's launch because they want to make it VR compatible for consoles.
Rumors about "No Man's Sky's" VR capabilities began when game creator teased Sean Murray teased that the technology could be compatible with the title.
"I don't know what I'm allowed to say," Murray said in a statement published by Games Radar regarding the game's rumored VR capabilities. "It's something we're thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus... There's nothing cooler and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe."
While fans are awaiting the game's release date, Murray dropped details of "No Man's Sky's" gameplay.
The Hello Games' boss revealed to IGN that "Factions will become friends with you if you help them out."
"Maybe by defending them against an attack from a warring faction or a pirate attack, perhaps if you're attacked and they're around, they'll come and help you in return, or maybe they'll give you preferential treatment as a trader," he added.
"No Man's Sky" is currently being developed as a PlayStation 4 exclusive game but is also expected to release on the PC, leaving other console users disappointed.
However, there's a chance that "No Man's Sky" will come out on Microsoft's Xbox One as well.
