'Friends' Reunion Movie: David Schwimmer The Reason Why 2017 Film Isn't Happening? Wife Jealous Of Jennifer Aniston?
It has been more than a decade since "Friends" wrapped up, but Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, and Joey's funny antics are still fresh on viewers' minds. Is there a possibility that producers could cash in on the show's brand by making a reunion movie?
The idea of a "Friends" reunion movie has been tackled over the past years, but up until now, no clear production plan has been announced.
It has been previously rumored that David Schwimmer is the one who's keeping it from happening, sparking speculations that his wife might be jealous of one of his female co-stars - Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox.
In an interview last year, Courteney Cox has hinted that David Schwimmer may purportedly be the reason why a "Friends" reunion movie has not happened yet.
"We've not really had a 'Friends' reunion," Courtney Cox told Huffington Post. "We've gotten about 80 percent there, but there's always one person who flakes at the end ... I'm not going to name names, but it may not be Schwimmer."
Is David Schwimmer really the reason behind the absence of any "Friends" reunion movie, and is his wife involved?
First, despite the lack of a film, the cast of "Friends" has reunited recently for an NBC special honoring director James Burrows. David Schwimmer was there along with his female co-stars and Matt LeBlanc. It was Matthew Perry who wasn't able to make it on the special because he was part of the cast for "The End of Longing" play in the U.K., as reported by E! News.
"Matthew may tape something for the tribute," a rep said in a statement, as quoted by E! Online. "In other words, this is not the reunion people have been hoping for."
So, it seems that David Schwimmer may not be the reason why the six cast members of "Friends" have never been complete for a reunion of sorts.
But what about the speculations that his wife could be jealous of his female co-stars? Some find it highly unlikely especially since David Schwimmer is the only one who hasn't been rumored to have an affair with Jennifer Aniston, or Courteney Cox over the recent months.
Despite the lack of an actual plan for a "Friends" reunion movie, fans of the sitcom still hope to get another dose of comedy from their beloved clique.
