Aerosmith Frontman Steven Tyler Slammed For Taking Credit For Guns N' Roses Reunion

Guns N' Roses sarcastically gives thanks to Aerosmith's Steven Tyler for taking partial credit in their reunion.

The "Walk This Way" singer recently sat down with Howard Stern to discuss the much awaited reunion.

When asked if he was "responsible for getting Slash and Axl talking again and back into the band Guns N' Roses," Tyler replied, "I'm sure I'm not solely - but I did meet Axl in a couple of clubs, a year ago, two years ago, three years ago, and I'd bump into him and I'd have that talk."

What exactly did Steven Tyler say to the "Welcome To The Jungle" singer to convince him to reunite the band?

"I said, 'You need to get the f--k back together again soon, because we all miss you.' Same thing someone said to me when [Aerosmith guitarist] Joe [Perry] and I were fighting."

He went on to explain that it was actually Bon Jovi who called him while he was in rehab and encouraged him to reunite Aerosmith.

He claims that the "Livin' On A Prayer" singer told him, "The f--k you doing in rehab? The world needs you, I'm here ripping it up and everybody is asking for Aerosmith."

Axl, meanwhile, seems to disagree with Tyler's statements. The Guns N' Roses frontman took to the band's Twitter and refuted Tyler's claims and thanked him for his "non-existent role" in their comeback.

"Guns N' Roses would like to respectfully thank the many people taking credit for our upcoming shows and everything in between," the band wrote in a post. "Especially those whom we haven't spoken to in numerous years who, through the power of social media, have somehow served a pivotal, even if non-existen role. We, and the fans thank you! #GnFnR"

Guns N' Roses' reunion in April marks the first time original members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will share a stage together since their farewell show in 1993. The band is set to headline the Saturdays of Coachella 2016.
