'Outlander' Season 2 Premiere's Release Date Is Here So Is The Official Trailer And New Claire?
Get those calendars marked Jamie and Claire fans as "Outlander" season 2 premiere's release date has been revealed.
The Starz TV series based on Diana Gabaldon series will return on April 9, almost a year since its first season's finale on May 30.
Along with the release date announcement is the official "Outlander" season 2 trailer which featured the lovable couple's time in their new country.
"Outlander" season 2 premiere episode is set in France, one of the most sophisticated countries back then, and that means Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) need to step up their dressing game, too, to adapt.
Terry Dresbach, "Outlander" on-set costume designer, said Claire will wear more formal dresses than the usual when the release date arrives.
"It's a high-fashion show - it really is the 18th-century version of modern couture with a twist because Claire is not a woman of the 18th century," she told PeopleStyle. "So we got to play with her clothes a lot. Every time she walks into the camera, everybody should take a gasp. Everybody should say, 'I cant believe she's wearing that!' It's highly dramatic."
While there will be changes in the way Claire dresses, Dresbach teased viewers, especially those who read the books, will still see the dress that will play a big role in her story this season. She described this gown as "scandalous, powerful and sensual."
The famous set designer said they stuck to the material despite the major changes made on the costumes.
"That was the biggest task of all because with the nature of the construction of clothing in the 18th century, people think that you can see a lot, but you actually can't because it's a corset that's there like an iron, cement wall," she explained.
"So we had to design a dress that Claire would have come up with on her own, where she made the decision that she was going to go without a corset, which would have been a scandal. That's the only way that we could stick to that line in the script that was so important to everybody."
