'The Flash' Season 2, Episode 13 Postmortem: Masked Man In Earth-2 Has Role In Zoom's Plan

"The Flash" season 2, episode 13 was one of the most epic hours in television based on social media reactions and critical reviews. Easter eggs and surprise twists were all over the place.

In "Welcome to Earth-2," Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and some members of the STAR Labs team travel to the parallel earth to help Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) save her daughter from Zoom.

The postmortem of episode 13 of "The Flash" season 2, things did not go well for them.

Barry was captured by the menacing villain and in the cell where he was held, there two persons that the Scarlet Speedster woke up seeing. One is Jesse, their main mission in this world, and the other is the man in the mask who sent fans asking - how important is he?

He will play a big role in the current storyline and in the next "The Flash" Season 2 episode called "Escape from Earth-2", people will see what he can do or what his purpose is.

"The man in the mask, he's there for a reason," executive producer Todd Helbing said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly and other journalists.

Todd also hinted that Zoom is getting closer to his plan to steal Barry's speed.

"He hasn't taken his speed," he said. "Obviously that is his big plan to take his speed, so now that he has him, he has 50 percent of what he needs. He doesn't have all the ingredients, per se. We established earlier in the season that he needed other aspects or other people to help that process."

Aside from the man in the mask in "The Flash" season 2, episode 13 postmortem, among the Earth-2 elements sent people into frenzy were Killer Frost and Deathstorm. There were also Cisco's evil doppelganger, Reverb, Deadshot's lousy counterpart, Iris and a singing Joe West, as well as Barry's emotional phone call to her Earth-2 mom.

The next "The Flash" season 2 episode will air on Feb. 16.
