KDrama Stars reported Sunday that "XxX3: The Return of Xander Cage" will be Kris' ninth film role since he left EXO in 2014. He started his acting career in 2015 with "Somewhere Only We Know" where he played the lead role.
After the romantic melodrama, Kris was offered to play the lead role for "Mr. Six." The Chinese crime drama film was selected to screen at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
"XxX3: The Return of Xander Cage" is expected to hit the theaters in 2017. However, fans won't have to wait that long to catch Kris as he will be participating at the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Feb. 12.
The Lawyer Herald reported Monday that the 25-year-old Canadian-Chinese singer-actor will join Drake's team and will have the chance to play with NBA legends Steve Nash and Tracy McGrady.
In 2014, Kris sought to nullify his contract with SM Entertainment. The former member of K-pop band EXO reportedly filed the lawsuit to cut his ties with the agency. Although no further details were disclosed regarding the issue, reports suggested that a disagreement between Kris and the agency was the reason behind the decision, Allkpop noted.
Kris joined EXO in February 2012 as the band's eleventh member. The band debuted in April 2012 with their first studio album "MAMA," which was released by SM Entertainment in Korean and Mandarin editions.
