MacBooK Pro 2016 Release Date, Specs: Touchscreen, Skylake Chips And More Killer Features
Another day, another rumor on MacBook Pro 2016 release date and specs!
Apple's much anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 may have touchscreen feature, claim recent rumors that also give rise to further speculations on the device's release date.
Apple will be organizing several events in 2016, the nearest of which will kick off in about a month from now. If word on the street is to be believed, the fruit-themed tech giant is planning to unveil multiple "high-profile" devices during the event including the 4-inch iPhone 5SE, the new Apple Watch, the iPad Air 3 and more.
However, according to a new report, the event scheduled on mid-March could also give a glimpse at the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016.
While Korea Portal can not independently verify the authenticity of this report, it echoes an earlier assessment by Gotta Be Mobile which is based on KGI Securities analyst Minch-Chi Kuo's claim that the MacBook Pro 2016 is likely to arrive by the end of Q2 2016.
Meanwhile, another report by Breathecast claims that while MacBook Air 2016 could be unveiled in March, it is highly probable that the MacBook Pro 2016 release date won't happen anytime before June.
Earlier reports suggested that the new MacBook Pro could come with Skylake chips which, if true, will definitely significantly enhance the device's display, charging and data-transfer rate.
Now, new reports are surfacing that the next-generation MacBooks may come equipped with the touchscreen feature.
"I think [a touch Mac] is inevitable," Ryan Reith, program director with IDC, told Forbes. "There's nothing from the supply chain or from Apple that supports that right now- I just think it's inevitable," adding, "I don't know if that's two years out or what."
However, Inquistr was quick to denounce the Forbes report saying that Apple is not at all interested in introducing touchscreen in the forthcoming MackBook Pro models.
Other key MackBook Pro 2016 specs might include, 8GB RAM, USB C ports, Retina display, IPS technology for 178-degree viewing angle, and possibly Iris Graphics 550.
