Matthew Perry Avoiding Courteney Cox After Dating Rumors? Actor Absent At 'Friends' Reunion
It has been rumored that former "Friends" Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry have purportedly been dating.
And now that the actor failed to show up at "Friends" reunion which is actually an NBC special to honor director James Burrows, there are speculations that it could be because he's avoiding Courtney Cox.
Despite speculations, rumors that Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry are dating have already been debunked.
"According to a source, the story is simply false," E! Online earlier reported. "Still, the timing seemed almost too perfect for the faux pair that we couldn't help but wish it into reality."
If he's not trying to avoid Courtney Cox, then why would Matthew Perry miss the highly-anticipated "Friends" reunion?
According to reports, it's nothing personal and fully professional. Matthew Perry couldn't be at the NBC special because he was starring in "The End of Longing" play in the U.K.
Many fans find this unfortunate especially since it has only been published recently that Perry also had a hand in writing the scripts of the sitcom.
"I was in the writer's room for Friends," Perry said, as quoted by BBC. "It was a pretty big writer's room. There were probably 20 people in there, 15 guys and five women. And they had a pie chart drawn up, so each character would have the same amount of time and had the same amount of scenes."
Despite not being present for the NBC special, it has been reported that Perry could still have a participation in the "Friends" reunion.
"Matthew may tape something for the tribute," a rep said in a statement, as quoted by E! Online in a separate report. "In other words, this is not the reunion people have been hoping for."
Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry have played friends-turned-couple Monica Geller and Chandler Bing in "Friends." They starred in the sitcom alongside Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc from 1994 to 2004.
