According to rumors, the upcoming Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is speculated to be touch screen capable and will pack a new chipset. This possibility was predicted amid the decrease of iPad sales.

International Data Corporation (IDC) analyst Ryan Reith shared that this feature is "inevitable," since the recently released Apple iPad Pro is a "kind of stopgap solution" until the Cupertino-based company releases a touch screen MacBook, Christian Post reported.

"There's nothing from the supply chain or from Apple that supports that right now - I just think it's inevitable. I don't know if that's two years out or what. In the typical Apple fashion, they're going to take their time and when they do it, they'll do it the right way," he said in an interview with Forbes.

Amid the rise of touch screen Ultrabooks, Apple already expressed its lack of interest in developing such feature to its MacBook series, according to Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi.

He added that Apple has experimented in incorporating touch screen innovation on their Macs, but its experience wasn't good, and they're not "all that interested in building one," CNET shared.

Inquisitr  added that Federighi also pointed out that Apple MacBook's touchpad "provides all the experience" similar to touch screen.

Upcoming devices are expected to be unveiled in March as the tech giant has already sent out invites for an event in San Francisco, California. The new iPad Air 3, MacBook Pro 2016, iPhone 5 SE and Apple Watch are expected to debut at the said event, Australia Network reported.

According to Latinos Post, the new MacBook Pro 20/16 will be powered by Intel's sixth-generation microarchitecture, known as the Skylake chip.

Meanwhile, a new MacBook Air won't come into light as new rumors claim that Apple has already dropped this series, per Gospel Herald.
