It has been rumored that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have been trying to make a family every since they tied the knot. Now, a recent statement from the "The Vampire Diaries" star got fans wondering if Reed already has a bun in the oven.

Asked by Entertainment Tonight if they will be parents soon, Somerhalder's reply was somewhat vague, but positive.

"Well, you know, those are the coolest little things in the world," the actor said. "Standby."

Other than that, "The Vampire Diaries" star and his wife are yet to clarify if they are indeed expecting a baby.

Before the latest interview, Ian Somerhalder earlier told ET last year how excited he is to have a child.

"It's the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something," Ian Somerhalder said in the earlier interview. "It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world -- but I really can't wait to do it and really just love it."

Amid pregnancy rumors, there are speculations that one particular person may not be too happy for the couple - Ian Somerhalder's ex-girlfriend and former "The Vampire Diaries" leading lady, Nina Dobrev.
