NBA Trade Rumors: Celtics Coach Brad Stevens Laughing At Talks Involving His Team?
Boston Celtics are on a great run but that didn't insulate the players from being part of several NBA trade rumors in the team's quest to be considered one of the elites in the Eastern Conference.
It is hard for coaches and players to be involved in trade discussions because of the possibility of getting distracted. Obviously, the Celtics are not affected. That is because the coaching staff are just laughing off all the NBA trade rumors.
"We're just all listening and laughing and trying to figure out what's real and what's not, but not putting a lot of a stock into it until somebody knocks on our door," coach Brad Stevens said last week, per NESN.
He said that if the Celtics will do some movement before the trade deadline, he will be the first one to know from the management and not any publishing sites.
"I probably followed up on every third rumor my first year," Stevens added. "And I don't think I've followed up on one yet. If Danny wants to talk to me about something, he knows where to find me."
The trade deadline is Feb. 18 and so far, there is no confirmed talks between Celtics and other teams.
The only player gets constantly mentioned in NBA Trade rumors is David Lee, who is reportedly unhappy with his minutes on the team.
"One of the teams that continues to be mentioned as a possibility for Lee at the deadline is the Toronto Raptors," Basketball Insiders wrote.
"However, making the cap math work would be complicated unless a third team that's willing to take on one of Toronto's longer deals gets involved."
"The Celtics have been on a skid as of late and have been actively looking at deals where they could liquidate some of their duplication or trade up in the talent department, and Lee is one of the guys they are expected to try to move at the deadline."
The Celtics are riding a three-game winning streak, including a confidence-building victory over Cleveland Cavaliers. They are fourth in Eastern Conference with 30-22 Win-Loss record so the NBA trade rumors involving the team might not hold water for now.
