Annalise Keating Dead When 'HTGAWM' Season 2 Returns? Flashbacks To Uncover Lawyer's Past?

The "How To Get Away With Murder" season 2 fall finale left a lot of viewers breathless; will Annalise Keating be dead on the mid-season premiere next week?

Before the mid-season break, it was revealed that Wes Gibbins was the one who shot Annalise Keating. Instead of shooting her on the leg, an outraged Wes - who just learned that her girlfriend Rebecca is dead - shot Annalise in the mid-section, possibly increasing the medical risk of the lawyer's injury.

With Wes acting like he would want to pull the trigger once more to kill Annalise once and for all, his professor called him "Christophe" which triggered a flashback suggesting that Annalise had something to do with the death of Wes' mother.

Viewers last saw a glimpse of Annalise Keating on a gurney wheeled towards the operating room while Frank was worriedly shouting, which turned out to be acting. It wasn't clear whether the professor will be dead or alive but doctors seem to be doing everything to save the lawyer.

Zap2it earlier examined the possibilities of Annalise Keating dying from the gun shot incident. Can "How To Get Away With Murder" season 2 continue to exist without the character played by Viola Davis?

"For those thinking that it's unlikely for the show to kill off it's newly Emmy minted star, stranger things have happened on primetime television," Megan Vick wrote in her article. "It's the age of 'Game of Thrones' where no character is safe and having your name open the show doesn't make for any guarantees."

Bustle on the other hand, previously tackled another possibility that would greatly affect how the rest of "How To Get Away With Murder" season 2 unfolds.

"I think that Annalise and Eve did something horrible to Wes' (or Christophe's) birth mother, and Annalise getting him into school and taking him under her wing is her way of justifying whatever she had to do," Lindsay Denninger wrote.

"Annalise lives in a world of moral relativism, and so if she thinks she is helping people, she is satisfied."

Dead or alive, Annalise Keating's story and secrets definitely intrigue fans who are excited to watch "How To Get Away With Murder" season 2 mid-season premiere on air Thursday, February 11.
