'Iron Man 4' Rumors: Robert Downey Jr. Out In The Next Franchise? Release Date Still Not Confirmed
There have been news about the rumored "Iron Man 4" movie to possibly take place in the future, while the release date and other details about the highly anticipated franchise have not been disclosed yet, it is said that Robert Downey Jr. won't be returning for his role.
Not long after the rumors made rounds in the headlines, "Iron Man" fans have since been keeping an eye as to who will take over Robert Downey's role as Tony Stark in the movie.
Though there are currently no candidates announced for the role, rumors claimed that the 14-year old actor Ty Simpkins, who was part of "Iron Man" 3 as Harley Keener, will be taking the role.
Following the speculations, fans were quick to react with some of them claiming that putting Simpkins in the spotlight as the next Iron Man is definitely a crazy idea as he is just too young for the role.
Moreover, the rumors about Robert Downey's possible exit from the movie series have not been confirmed by the actor himself so there's probably a big chance that he might reprise his role if "Iron Man 4" will push through.
As for its official release date, no concrete details have been announced, however, it has been hinted that the movie will probably be taking place in 2020 or earlier.
Fuelling up the rumors about the 50-year old actor, the release of "Iron Man 4" might be cancelled or may be pushed back on a much later release as Robert Downey is allegedly still not ready to reprise his role.
"I also recognize that I'll be turning 50 by the time I promote this movie. The clock is ticking down on the amount of memories and participation that I would allow myself and not embarrass the medium with." said Robert Downey Jr., as quoted in Screenrant.
As to whether or not Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark in "Iron Man 4," majority of the fans are hoping that the same Iron Man they used to watch from the first until the third franchise will come into view when the movie finally takes place.
